Rutland (June 5, 2017) - This year’s Young Professionals Summit of Vermont will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017. The event, hosted annually by Rutland Young Professionals at the Paramount Theatre in downtown Rutland, VT, brings together over 150 leaders from around the state to network, share ideas, and confront issues faced by the state's young workforce. Equal parts professional development and community action, the summit aims to empower young people to create positive change by connecting them with business leaders, policymakers, and, most importantly, each other.
Lifelong friends and Rutland natives Laura Pierce, Project Leader at Cerner Corporation, and Amanda Dagg O’Brien, Senior Consultant at Maia Strategy Group, will co-chair the 2017 Young Professionals Summit of Vermont. Both returned to the state last year—from Chicago and New York City respectively—and are passionate about supporting Vermont’s growth and development into a place that is attractive and sustainable for young Vermonters.
The 2017 Young Professionals Summit of Vermont planning committee also includes: Sara Gilbert and Tyler Richardson of the Rutland Economic Development Corporation (REDC), Heather Robertson of Weber Shandwick, Shannon Poole of Heritage Family Credit Union, Katye Munger of Castleton University, and Matt Bloomer, Rutland City Attorney.
The planning committee is currently accepting proposals for speakers and presentation topics. To submit your ideas and learn more about the event click here.
